Today, I finally went to the Gindaco shop near Waseda to try some of the takoyaki everyone’s been talking about. Mann it sure hit the spot. ^^
There’re many many Gindaco outlets in Japan, and the one near Waseda is located along the way from Okuma Auditorium to Toyama Campus.
Check out the menu. I got the “ebi chili” one, on the top left hand corner. Which is takoyaki with chilli sauce and prawns on top. To those who wanna eat only takoyaki for lunch, I recommend you to get the 8 pieces one, ‘cuz 4 sure wasnt enough. =P For the normal takoyaki, it’s 300yen (S$4.90) for 4, 500yen for 8.
We had to wait for a while b4 the takoyaki was done (which meant it was freshly made!), so we were given a number tag thingy
If you can read japanese, this is the back of the number tag
Takoyaki dude making the finishing touches to our takoyaki ^^
“Your takoyaki is served!” Lol nah i’m just kidding, he didn’t say that; my friend helped me ask him to smile for a picture. =P
My ebi-chili takoyaki1 ^^ Taste wise, the crust was crunchy, with a moist starchy paste inside and a bite sized squid chunk. Obviously, the chilli sauce was more sweet than spicy, but still, it was good. xD
Andd… I heard that the ultimate place for takoyaki is to have it in Osaka, which I may be heading to this dec. ^^
That’s all for today, folks! =D
